What can we say – the best, biggest, craziest most creative IS183 Art School gaLa ever!  600+ attendees flooded East Coast Refinishing in Pittsfield, MA on Saturday, March 6, 2009 to enjoy an original street art inspired dance party and silent auction in support of the school.

Fantastical elements included a spray painted cargo van as dj cage, go-go dancers in industrial cages of rebar and bike parts, a hot dog vendor, floating toxic swill bar, best silent auction in the county and dance til you drop party featuring music by DJ BFG, lights by Sean McLaughlin and Ruralliance and projections by Drew Suto.

All proceeds went to support programming and outreach of IS183 Art School – a non-profit community art school encouraging people of all ages, means and skill levels to enrich their lives through hands-on experience in the visual arts.

Yes it did!

The inter-me-nets and street corners have been abuzz since Saturday, it was not a dream my dears, RAD BOD was real….really awesome!

Thank you to all our amazing Sponsors, Patrons, Party Hosts, Donating Businesses, Committee, Volunteers, and attendees for helping us rock out and raise funds that make IS183 possible!

As you know, success of this event is critical to the health of our art school as it raises almost 1/3 of the contributed income IS183 needs to operate our outreach, after-school and scholarship programs.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling IS183 (413.298.5252 x100), online (www.is183.org) or night of at the door of East Coast Refinishing (4 Industrial Avenue, Pittsfield).

$50 for a dance ticket may feel steep but with chocolates by Chocolate Springs, hors d’oeuvres by Kate Baldwin Caterer and drinks sponsored by Berkshire Mountain Distillers, Domaney’s Discount Liquors and Pittsfield Brewworks the best dance party of the year is not only a worthy cause but definitely WORTH it!

Art is necessary. So is supporting it.

Less than three days to go!!! Hopefully you have already made your RAD BOD silent auction shopping list,  you are putting the finishing touches on your day-glo bodysuit and matching helmet…but make-up! What about make-up!?

If you are like me and put your eyeballs and general well-being at risk anytime you attempt your own make-up, we have a solution! Local make-up artist Ericka N. Hanger has volunteered her services at a special RAD BOD price! Give her a ring, have her come to your pre-party dinner and or home and bring the RAD BOD Hotness.
